http://www.corporatejustice.org/ The European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ) brings together NGOs, trade unions and coalitions promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Corporate Accountability (CA) from all over Europe. ECCJ aims at increasing European co-operation amongst NGOs working on Corporate Justice and raising public awareness about the role of the European Union to regulate Business. We are convinced that a regulatory approach towards CA is needed and that the European Union should establish legal measures to adress the environmental, social and human-rights costs of EU-based companies. The coalition has several aims. Firstly, to increase European co-operation amongst NGOs working on Corporate Justice and to influence policies within the EU and it's member states. Secondly, to raise public awareness about Corporate Justice and policies of the EU and to promote a consistent viewpoint from civil society. Trotz Klagen der lokalen Bevölkerung und gerichtlicher Beschlüsse hat das Unternehmen Arcelor Mittal nichts über das Ausmaß der Umweltverschmutzungen durch seine Bergbauminen in Südafrika veröffentlicht. Der Fall "Die Energie-Reichen und Energie-Armen" verdeutlicht die Verletzung von Verbraucherrechten in sieben Regionen Kolumbiens, in denen der spanische Energiekonzern Union Fenosa überteuerte und mangelhafte Stromversorgung anbietet, die schon manchem Bewohner das Leben gekostet hat. Dies sind keine Einzelfälle. Es gibt viele Berichte über Fehlverhalten großer europäischer Firmen, die es leider nicht immer in die Presse schaffen.</div>
